Video tape transfer to DVD or USB

Video tapes have a limited life: the tape degrades and the machines that play them disappear. We transfer them to digital, so you can watch them on any TV, phone or computer.

  • VHS and VHS-C
  • 8mm, Hi8 and Digital8
  • MiniDV and other compact digital formats
  • Delivered on DVD, USB stick or both
  • DVD and CD copying, DVD to USB transfer

Every tape is played in full on quality equipment and captured in real time, so a two-hour tape means two hours of transfer. We do not speed up or cut anything unless you ask.

You receive the video as MP4 files, which open anywhere, or as a video DVD, which plays in any player. Tell us how you want to watch them and we prepare the right format.

The tapes remain yours; you get them back together with the transfer.

Frequently asked questions

My tape is old and has mould. Is it still possible?

Often yes. Bring it to the workshop, we check it and tell you honestly what can be recovered before you pay anything.

How long does it take?

The transfer runs in real time, plus processing. An ordinary tape is ready in 2–4 working days.

Can I get the film on my phone?

Yes. The MP4 file on the stick copies to a phone, or we send a download link for files of reasonable size.
